Assam TET Recruitment 2019 : As per the mandate of RTE Act, the Government of  Assam , Department of Elementary Education had decided  to conduct Teachers’ Eligibility Test with the objective of recruiting meritorious and qualified teachers following the guidelines and norms of National Council of Teacher Education( NCTE).

National Council of Teacher Education vide No. 76-4/2010/NCTE/Acad dtd 11.02.2011 has laid down the guidelines for conducting the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) under Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act (RTE), 2009.

Pursuant to this and  in order to ensure the intake of meritorious persons as Teachers, and thereby improve the quality of classroom transaction and   teaching as a whole,TET was conducted in Assam and a committee, known as Empowered Committee on TET was constituted and notified.

To bring about a perspective change in the education sector and to bring about quality in education, Government of Assam has conducted six number of TET so far in which 88571 candidates qualified. The Teachers Eligibility Test for Siksha Mitra   and Additional Siksha Mitra on the 19th of October, 2014 .



Important News related Assam TET recruitment 2019

After almost a gap of seven years, the Government of Assam is now planning to organize Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) to fill up the vacant posts of teachers in the schools. The education department of Assam has decided to conduct fresh Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) level tentatively on September 22 or 29, 2019.

As per National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) norms has already expired since the last TET was conducted on 2012 followed by a few special TETs. As such, a proposal was sent to NCTE for extension of the validity of TET pass certificate upto March 31, 2020.

Duration of examination: 

2 1/2 hours (150 Minutes) for Paper-I and 2 ½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper II. Additional 20 minutes’ time (per hour) will be there for visually impaired candidates.

Minimum Marks for qualifying in TET: 

A candidate is required to score 60 % i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET). However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST (Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5 %. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55 %

* There will be no negative marking.

Validity of the certificate: 


The validity of the Mark sheet cum Certificate of TET shall be for 7 (seven) years from the date of issue of the certificate by the Empowered Committee, TET, Govt. of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria: 

The eligibility criteria of a candidate to appear in TET are as follows:
A. Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam.
B. Candidate must have minimum academic and professional qualification as follows:




Minimum Qualification for appearing in Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V):

 
a) Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) obtained from any recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V, provided the person so appointed as teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within two years of such appointment as primary teacher.b) A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February, 2011, may also apply for TET. However he can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualification.Remark: Candidate those who were admitted in D.El.Ed program before 31st August 2009 please refer to Clause B under subheading Relaxation.Minimum Qualification for appearing in Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII): 
 
a) Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed.
